On April 18th, 2024, the AGREEMAR partner LNEC organised a stakeholder interaction workshop with the participation of 20 people representing national, regional, and local institutions. In this workshop, the tools developed to date in the AGREEMAR project have been presented (feasibility maps, regional and local numerical model, and Constellation Analysis, CA) and stakeholders have been invited to participate in collaborative exercises making use of interactive presentations for discussion of results in real time (wordclouds, criteria weighting, etc.).
A participative approach to construct new CA was done, aiming to reply to the main underlying key-question: “Since MAR is a successful technology in so many countries, what do you still consider to be the main factors that condition its implementation in Portugal?”. Interesting and live debates arose from the five participative exercises performed (individually, in small groups, and in a final plenary session) about new alternatives to the use and management of water in Alentejo region, including MAR, aiming to reach future agreements.
A short visit to the ongoing physical models was conducted in LNECs Hydraulics Department. A more detailed program is shown below.
